Personal Aspirations

To use this film and the rest of work I have produced over eight years of study to build a successful portfolio. Then I want to form or be a part of a small production company where I would act as the Writer/Director/Editor. I would ideally like to produce short films and music videos and build up a secure body of work. My dream is to work in the drama department of the BBC as a writer/assistant director.

Treatment/ Sypnopsis

'The Prism' is a twenty minute long drama piece which is abstract and surreal with hints of avant-garde. The story is about Euiva Pallor, an extremely 'bright' older lady who lives in a world where everyone is segregated according to a colour they are given. The film is presented in the style of a TV Interview, where people who Euiva has helped in her life tell their stories of how Euiva gave away all of her own colour to help those who needed it more. It is a poignant story about living life to the absolute full and sometimes feeling like you are black and white in a technicolor world.  The film is partly inspired by my own experiences with people who are at the end of their lives, and also by the famous children's tale called 'The Rainbow Fish.' I wanted to do this project because it is close to my heart and I wanted to create a piece where the characters are so alluring and interesting that you can create a piece purely throughout creative montage and dialogue. I hope that you enjoy it!
