Casting

Once I had a first draft of my script and was sure of my characters, I started posting on casting websites requesting actors to play my main roles.

My first port of call was STARNOW,  a casting website I have been a member of for a few years and have used to cast my short films in the past because it is usually quite efficient, especially if you are looking for a specific type of person. I put casting calls out for the characters 'Euiva', 'Pop', 'Leggo', 'Missy', 'Yadler' and 'Anferny.' I am aware of the fact I have a lot of characters to cast but the beauty of my project is that it works best with all the characters but can be salvaged if I don't manage to cast one. I also believe I can get away with a lot of characters because apart from a very short scene at the end they never appear together so will be filmed individually.

UPDATE: When I posted on StarNow I did not think I would need to consult any other casting website as it had worked so well for me in the past. Unfortunately it had been a week since I posted the call and I had no applications so I decided to start posting elsewhere. In that week I also decided to introduce another character in the script, 'Threek', which is why she appears on all the other casting calls but not this one. I have learnt now not to rely on certain places and to always explore all my options. I am much happier with the response I received once I posted on other sites.

Casting Call Pro

I firstly posted a casting call on CASTING CALL PRO - a site I had not used before but got information from off of the Learning Network.

UPDATE: This is the total amount of applicants from this site that I have received before I am closing the post in order to audition (26th October)

Mandy.com

I then posted on MANDY.COM

UPDATE: This is the amount of applicants I have received before closing the job post on 26th October to audition.

CastNet

I finally posted on CASTNET which I found very easy to use due to being able to select the actors you wanted to message rather than the other way around.

UPDATE: I have received 44 applications for characters on Cast.Net and have asked them all, along with all the applicants from the other websites, to send me a video audition (26th October) Here is what I sent them all via email.
